My name is Amanda. I start my days with a cup of coffee (light roast, hot, and with vanilla creamer) and a book (usually fiction with a sprinkle of sci fi or time travel or a humorous memoir). Movies (favorites include Back to the Future, Say Anything, and—if I’m honest—Spaceballs) and TV shows (current binge is Seinfeld) are my love language. Music (everything from Olivia Rodrigo to The Killers) inspires me when I write, walk, or work-out. I love em dashes and parentheticals, and I have an ongoing love affair with travel (my last adventure abroad was a five weeks spent across Scotland, London, Paris, the French Riveria, Spain, and Portugal). My dream job is to someday publish a New York Times bestselling book or write an award-winning play or musical. Other dreams include running a book-and-coffee shop with my amazing partner, building a sustainable A-frame cabin nestled in the woods somewhere, visiting Japan and living abroad in Portugal (or Croatia. Or Scotland. I’m not picky.). I make a mean roasted brussels sprouts dish, take far too many pictures of everything wherever I am, and no matter what, I almost-always try to make people laugh and feel understood.
